May we always seek the LORD!

May was a month full of blessings for the mission and for our family. We spent the majority of the month of May close to home. Visiting some nearby churches in Indiana as a family and celebrating Mother’s day with my home church. I did make one solo trip out of state to visit one of our supporting churches Quaker Avenue Baptist Church in Lubbock,  Texas and to attend the pre association meeting of the American Baptist Association in Texarkana for consideration as a newly recommended interstate missionary on designated funds. What an encouragement that trip was all around.  I learned of Quaker Avenue’s history of supporting missions in Utah and was encouraged by their dedication to give to missions in general. At the pre association meeting there were many who shared excitement for what God has called us to.  It was also good to spend time in Texarkana with my Pastor Bro. Chris Tucker who met me there for the meeting, and we are thankful for Bro. Jon Lowe letting us ride back to Indiana with him, it was a good time of fellowship.

In May I had opportunity’s to visit:

  • Highview Baptist Church, Bedford, IN - Pastor Danny Goens.
  • Quaker Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, Lubbock, TX - Pastor Monty Hilliard.
  • Hebron Baptist Church, Bloomington, IN - Pastor Tim Sumpter.
  • Grace Baptist Church, Hope, IN - Pastor Scott Bourland.
Each of these churches were great hosts and were encouragements to me as I sought to share the vision, raise support, and build gospel-centered partnerships. We were blessed to see many familiar faces, make new friends, and build existing relationships. At Highview BC and Hebron BC I got to see familiar faces and felt their love and support. It was good to be with my former Pastor Tim Sumpter and his family at Hebron. At Quaker Ave. MBC it was exciting to meet the people who have been praying for me and supporting me for the last several months. At Grace BC we shared a great week during their mission conference with other missionary families, creating and strengthening bonds and friendships. It was great to share time with Bro. Justin Cobourn and his Family (ABA Missions), Bro. Joe Morell (MTM), and Brandon Rutherford and his family who are going to NYC as church planters. Each night Bro. Joe delivered God’s Word powerfully, we felt loved and supported by the church and most importantly God was glorified.

Traveling with a toddler going church to church meeting new people every week can sometimes be hectic but it’s never boring. It is such a joy watching her interact with people everywhere we go, and watching them love on her. I am convinced by the time we are done with deputation she will have more friends than me. It’s scary at times to think about how God’s call with effect your family but it has been great to see how God is watching out for them and is using his people to  encourage and care for not just me but my wife and my daughter.

“And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.”‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31‬:‭8‬ ‭

Special Thanks!‬ ‭

We want to express a special gratitude to two of our supporting churches that gave above and beyond their normal monthly offerings in May. Quaker Ave. blessed the mission with $1,620 and Grace BC blessed us with $3,250 toward our launch target. We know that both of these churches are also praying for us often and that is such an encouragement.
