Worship and Outreach!

June looked different with summer activities in full swing.  The majority of the time on deputation I am preaching, it was good to have opportunity’s to be preached to and to worship with other believers, both at the American Baptist Associations National Meeting and briefly at CityReach with the Refuge BC in Plainfield, IN. We only got to go up to CityReach one day but  it was a good time of worship, fellowship and service. Thankful for Bro. Brandon Rutherford and the group from Calvary BC in Orlando for letting us tag along with them for the day and canvas a few neighborhoods with door hangers. We also spent time with our sending church during their VBS, I got to teach one night and we were their selected missionary’s for the VBS offering. We also visited another near by sister church (Hebron Baptist Church) for their VBS.

In June I had opportunity’s to visit:
  • Faith Baptist Church in Edinburgh, IN -Pastor Tim Woodring.
  • Salem Landmark MBC  in Salem, AR - Pastor Holden Phillips.
  • Huntsville Baptist Church in Huntersville, AR - Pastor Dwight Gonzales.
  • Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Noblesville, IN - Pastor Ben Stafford.

We are very thankful for each of these churches for their hospitality, generosity and prayers.

The National American Baptist Association meeting is always a great time of fellowship and encouragement, a time with like minded believers focused on the furtherance of the Gospel. This year my family attended in a different capacity. We had a booth, I got to share in Missionary Share Time and was presented as recommended missionary. We are very thankful for the support and encouragement that we received. I had many opportunities to visit with old friends and to make new friends and connections. During the week I was able to schedule appointments through the end of August. I am looking forward to many opportunities to share the vision in the coming months. Wednesday night of the meeting we got to participate in the missionary presentation and had several families come to the alter and pray over us. Our Pastor prayed with us as well as other pastors who have been a support and encouragement through the years, it was also encouraging to be prayed for by people we didn’t met yet who said they heard of us and what we are doing and wanted to pray with us. What a blessing that was.

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, Even Aaron's beard: That went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, And as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: For there the LORD commanded the blessing, Even life for evermore.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭133‬

Special Prayer and Thanksgiving!‬ ‭
Over the last several months I have almost mechanically at times asked churches at the end of my presentation to pray for our travels as a family while on the road for deputation. Coming home from the National Meeting while driving on the interstate another driver who was whipping in and out of traffic made me very uncomfortable. It reminded me that this prayer need not be another bullet point but an earnest matter of pray. It also made me thankful for God’s protection of us so far in this journey. We have driven late nights, through storms and through some pretty rough storms but he has kept us safe, thank you to those of you who have been praying for that.

How to get involved

If you would like to know more about the burden God has placed on our hearts, or would like for us to share the need and the plan at your church let us know. We’d love to schedule a time to visit.
