Partnership and Connections

July was a busy and encouraging month full of fellowship and new friendships. We visited two churches in Michigan. Then we got to spend a weekend with our sending Church and celebrate two baptisms, ahead of 6 weeks of travel. Half way through the month, my in-laws arrived from Peru and my Pastor joined me in driving to Chicago to welcome them and pick them up. Not only are we glad that they are here with us for the next several weeks but they are also a great help when traveling with a toddler. We are thankful for their willingness to help! During my trip out west they were a great help to my wife. We are thankful to our church and pastor for the special effort they did in making them feel welcome by having a bilingual service their first Sunday here.

In July I had the opportunity to visit:

Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in South Haven, MI - Pastor Larry Phillips.
First Missionary Baptist Church in Buchanan, MI - Pastor Waymond Bond.
Sheridan First Baptist Church in Sheridan, IN (VBS) - Pastor Jason Rumph.
Rocky Mountain Missionary Baptist Association - Hosted by Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Gillette, WY - Pastor Darrell Ray.
Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Cheyenne, WY - Pastor Richard Crain.
Greeley Missionary Baptist Church in Greeley, CO - Pastor Ike Thompson.
White Oak Baptist Church in Nancy, KY - Pastor Josh McClendon.
Clay Hill Baptist Church in Somerset, KY - Pastor Jeff Lockard.

We are very thankful for each of these churches for their hospitality, generosity and prayers.
We also had the opportunity to briefly visit Grace Baptist in Hope, IN as the Macedonian Builders worked with them to build a new Sanctuary and classrooms. We are excited for them, and are thankful for their love and support.

One thing I cherish about our associated work is the connections that are formed around the furtherance of the Gospel. We serve a mighty God who brings people together under himself. When I was a kid my family did not leave town without an ABA book with the hope of finding a church of like faith and order as we traveled. I learned then that regardless of where I was in the country if I was with like minded believers I felt right at home. Ten years ago I took my first international trip and went to Peru, during that first two week trip I learned that to be even more true. In July, I attended the Rocky Mountain Missionary Baptist Association meeting in Gillette, WY. I was reminded of this truth once again. I wanted to attend this meeting because it is the closest regional association to where we will be and I wanted to meet the men serving in this region of the country. I was very glad to be accompanied by my friend Bro. Levi Boudra, who pastors our newest supporting church, First Landmark MBC in Marion, IN (I am thankful for the support he has been throughout this process). We enjoyed the preaching of God’s Word and the fellowship with these new brothers, our time with them solidified in my heart further not only the need of the Gospel in Utah but the great need in the West. Levi and I were encouraged by them as I pray they were by us. Thankful for new fellowship in Christ.

Special Prayer

Pray for Lourdes and me as we travel to Utah August 15-18.
Pray that God will open the door for us to be able to spend an extended period of time in Utah during the winter months as deputation travel slows down due to weather.

Special Thanks

To the Cosme Family who is seeking to join us in Utah. Throughout this process so far God has grown our relationship with them into that of a team, that has been exciting and encouraging to experience. They helped us making an animated video. We already see their commitment with this mission and can't wait to keep serving together. Please pray for the visa paperwork and all the doors that God will open for them.

We want to Thank God for our newest supporting church. First Landmark MBC in Marion, IN has decided to partner with us monthly.

Currently we have around 30% of our estimated launch budget saved up and are receiving about 10% of what we predict needing in monthly support. We want to praise God for this and thank those that are giving toward this new mission.
