Falling in love with this season!
October was a change in a positive way, as we entered full time deputation my deputation calendar filled up significantly yet our life slowed down a bit in between appointments which has been a blessing and allowed us to rest and recover between trips as well as prepare for the field in other ways. In October we visited:
• Timbo Landmark MBC in Timbo, AR - Pastor Cody Moore.
• MTM (Missionary Training Ministries) at Flatwoods Baptist Church
• Mission Connection Night at Flatwoods in Mountain View, AR.
• Macedonia Association at Oak Grove MBC in Batesville, AR.
• Surrounded Hill Landmark MBC in Newport - Pastor Jason Bailey.
• Union Grove MBC in Pleasant Plains, AR - Pastor Ronnie Forest.
• Oklahoma State Association at Concord BC in Norman, OK.
• North East Mission Councel at Pinkam Chapel MBC in DeKalb, TX
• Austin Chapel MBC in DeKalb -Pastor Josh Jackson.
• Hughes Springs MBC in Hughes Springs, TX -Pastor Chris Cates.
• MT. Zion MBC Youth in Malvern, AR - Youth Pastor Dale Hamilton.
• Calvary BC in Hamburg, AR - Pastor Jared Conistar.
• Promise Land MBC in Hamburg, AR - Pastor Josh Luellen.
Missionary Training Ministries - Module 3
The first full week of October was spent in the beautiful Mountain View, Arkansas for Module 3 of 4 of the Missionary Training Ministries which is a ministry of Flatwoods Baptist Church. We had a wonderful week learning from veteran missionaries, making new friends and building relationships with others. My parents were able to join us which made the week even better. We are thankful for the leadership of Chase Reynolds and Joe Morrell who make these weeks possible.
October Deputation Visits
Before and after MTM we visited churches in the area, I have many friends in this area due to having grown up going to church camp at Budd Creek in Greers Ferry, AR. The Sunday before MTM we spent with Timbo Landmark MBC, her pastor Cody Moore and wife Brooke have been friends of mine for years. We were glad to meet their 4 month old son Wesley and to share our burden with them and their church. It was good to see so many young people in this church.
After MTM we were able to also attend the Macedonian Association Meeting which is the group that I went to church camp with as a child. I was able to visit with many friends there and make appointments for later in the year. The following Day we visited Surrounded Hill Landmark MBC and Union Grove both churches I’ve known from Camp. Surrounded Hill has been a church I’ve looked up to for years. They have produced many young preachers who are now pastoring the Lords churches, and currently have a state side missionary Kevin Cooper serving in De Moine, Iowa. Their heart for discipleship and missions is evident. I am thankful for the teaching, leadership and faithfulness of Bro. Jason Bailey in this church and in my ministry. That same Sunday in the evening we went to Union Grove. Union Grove had such an eagerness to hear our burden which was encouraging to us, after our visit they voted to support us monthly and gave a lump sum offering of $10,000 for which we thank God. We are thankful also for Pleasant Valley MBC in Batesville - Pastor Scott Jones who allowed us to stay in their newly renovated Missionary Quarters while in the area. We had the privilege of being their first guests.
After our time in the Batesville area we made our way to Malvern, AR where we are staying in the mission home of Mt. Zion MBC as our Homebase for the months of October and November. We are very thankful for they allowing us to stay here.
After briefly settling in Malvern we hit the road to Oklahoma where I was privileged to preach the missions message at their state meeting. I enjoyed our visit there and made many contacts for future visits. From there we headed toward the mission home in Hughes Springs TX. We were invited to attend the NE Texas mission council at Pinkam Memorial MBC in DeKalb with Pastor Chris and Sis. Kristi Cates of Hughes Springs MBC. The following day we were also invited to have a time of fellowship with Bro. Chance Lindsey and Bro. Jonathan West and their families and that was such a sweet time of fellowship. On Sunday we were able to visit Austin Chapel in DeKalb and Hughes Springs in Hughes Springs. Both were gracious hosts.
The following Wednesday we were given the opportunity to share with the youth of Mt. Zion, that was a great opportunity with a lot of engagement.
The last Sunday of the month was spend in Hamburg, AR. We visited Calvary Baptist and Promise Land MBC. It was a full day but a blessed day of fellowship with God’s people. We wrapped up the Month with Mt. Zion again participating in their annual Trunk or Treat, We missed being with our home church for their fall outreach on Halloween night, but It was a great outreach event and we were able to meet a few more of Mt. Zion’s members.
We are thankful for what God is doing in our lives. We are encouraged by the people and churches he is using to help us to get where he has called us to serve. Please let me know if you would like to know more about what we are doing or would like to get involved in some way.
Thank you for your prayers and support!
