Associational Blessings

I thank God to be a part of an Association of churches that work together in missions for the cause of Christ. It is always a blessing to attend association meetings, connect with new and old friends and strengthen relationships around the Word of God! Time is never sufficient to see and visit with everyone but it is always a blessing to see so many people at once. God used these visits to open new doors, schedule future deputation visits and to fellowship with pastors and members of supporting churches.

November Visits

God continues to care for us as we travel, he often uses his people to do it. We have been the recipient of great hospitality by churches and their members. We were thankful to start the month visiting Oak Grove and Pleasant Valley, their enthusiasm to hear our burden was encouraging. It was also special to share with New Hope in Hot Springs on a Wednesday Night. This church was my dad’s childhood church, many there were friends with my Grandparents. I visited this church many times growing up it was a blessing to share with them what God is doing in our lives.

The first three weeks of November kept us busy and on the road with Associational Meetings God granted us safety as we traveled to and from each meeting, he gave us churches to visit to and from and he gave us people along the way that encouraged and refreshed us.

The second week of November I did a solo trip to visit churches in Vian, OK and Ozark, AR. Both churches were great host and eager to hear my heart. I missed having my wife and daughter with me but with the anticipated travel ahead it was good for them to stay back at the mission home and attend Mt. Zion MBC in Malvern.

The following week we had a great time at the Louisiana state meeting then headed to East Texas, we stayed a few days at the home of Bro. Roger Bynog Sr. and Sis. Barb Bynog who are the Deacon and wife of Greggton MBC in Longview (one of our supporting churches). We enjoyed fellowship with them and had the opportunity to join their Youth Pastor, Jason Enochs, and some of their teens in a community outreach that Saturday.

After our visit in Greggton we headed to Pleasant Hill MBC in Overton on Sunday Morning then made our way toward the Dallas Area to visit Sublett Road in the evening. It was a privilege to share at both of these churches. Both of these churches and pastors have a reputation of loving missionaries and I am glad to have had the opportunity to share with them. After visiting Sublett we headed back to the east side of Dallas where we attended the Texas state meeting in Garland the following Tuesday. It was good to connect with members from a few of our supporting churches and to meet new people that were interested in hearing from us.

After returning from a week a travel my wife and daughter stayed back once more while I made a solo trip to Pleasant Plains where I visited two sister churches. I have friends at both of these churches due to having gone to church camp with them as a kid. It is exciting to watch the context of these relationships grow and mature from church camp to working together in missions. I thank God for these churches and their pastors.

The Tuesday  before Thanksgiving I visited Westview in Searcy, this also came with the pleasant suprise of visiting with Bro. Vernon McNully. This church has had an investment in my home state by being the sending Chruch for Bro. Kenny Roberson when he started Victory MBC in Seymour a church that is dear to my heart. I am thankful for their investment in Indiana and was glad to have been asked to share my burden for Utah.

We finished the month at Mt. Zion in Malvern, this church has been a great host for our family and while this was my first Sunday there it was my wife and daughters third. I am glad they have a place they can attend and feel at home when I travel by myself. It was good to share with them as well and get to know some of the members better. After our morning with Mt. Zion we began heading back to Indiana. We stopped in Corning, AR on our way and visited Grace MBC who were gracious and generous hosts.
