In God’s Terms

God continues to remind us that he is in control, I’m thankful that he has plans that are greater than ours. In March we visited:

  • Rocky Bayou Association Mission Rally.
  • Hickory Grove MBC Newport, AR - Pastor David Burgess.
  • Mission Youth Rally @ Greggton MBC Longview, TX.
  • (Virtual) Youth Mission Rally @ Bethel MBC Leavenworth, Kansas.
  • Harvest Oaks Church Allen, TX - Pastor Jay Gibson.
  • Lifeline Baptist Church Venus, TX - Pastor David Smith.
  • Ebenezer Baptist Church Henderson, TX - Steven Haney.
  • Glen Rose MBC Malvern, AR - Pastor Dillon Miller.
  • Stockwell Road BC Bossier City, LA - Pastor Nathan Luellen.

While I cannot be two places at one time I am thankful for technology allowing me to participate in two Youth Mission Rally’s on the same day at the same time over 500 miles apart. While sitting at the Rally in Texas I got two separate texts from brethren in Kansas watching our video. What a blessing! Not only that we were invited to participate in both but also that there is such an emphasis on Missions among the youth in our associated work. Brethren the future is bright, I pray God uses this next generations to reach many as they obediently join in the mission that God has given to his churches.

From Longview we went to Dallas to finish MTM and the DNA process. That Sunday we visited two churches in the Dallas area, both were an encouragment to us. The church we visited Sunday Evening where David Smith Pastors is a (English/Spanish) bilingual church, this was a great experience for us as we desire to serve in a multicultural capacity in Utah. Thankfully I had a video of our partner Bro. Joel Cosme sharing the need and the vision that I was able to show and I followed that up with sharing our vision in English with a sister from the church translating live from another room. I have preached with translators many times over my ministry but this was the first time doing it this way. It was a good learning opportunity to see how they do it. Thank you to Associate Pastor Jase Fuller for setting it up!

Also shout out to Bro. Roger & Sis. Barb Bynog of East Texas Tire Kilgore, TX and members of Greggton MBC in Longview. They are big supporters of our ministry and were great to do business with when we needed new tires last month. If you need tires in East Texas hit them up!

We spent a week in the Dallas Area at Sublett Road Baptist Church in Arlington finishing the final of four module’s of MTM (Missionary Training Ministries) as well as the final of three of the DNA (Discovery and Assistance) courses. Now we are working on finishing up required readings and Lord willing we will both graduate with an Associates in Missions from the Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock, AR in May. We are not only thankful for the training we have received through this ministry but also for the friendships and partnerships that we have developed over the last 2 years that God is already using for His Kingdom and for His glory! We are very thankful that one of our nieces from Peru joined us for the week of MTM and the weekend ahead of it to help us with our daughter Emilia. It was a busy week and it was great having an extra set of hands, as well as to get to spend time with her. We are thankful for everyone who made  Mariana feel welcome.

The end of March did not end as planned but God worked out a much greater plan. When at Stockwell Road Baptist in Bossier City, LA Bro. Nathan he shared with us that he would be traveling to California the following week to represent Bogard Press at the California State Meeting. The California Association has many churches closer to where we will be than many other churches we have visited and we have had a desire to get out there and meet some of them, we believed this was a good opportunity. Since the following week was Easter I did not have an appointment booked so instead of returning to Arkansas we were able to find fair priced last minute tickets and we went straight to Dallas and flew from DFW to LAX the following Monday morning. We had a wonderful time in California and making many new friends in ministry, for now I will leave this on a cliff hanger and share more of our California visit in our April Report.

How to get involved

If you would like to know more about the burden God has placed on our hearts, or would like for us to share the need and the plan at your church let us know. We’d love to schedule a time to visit.
